  • Guests arriving at Bagan on our group flight visit a bustling morning market and a beautiful temple en route to Belmond Road to Mandalay, which is berthed at the private jetty near Old Bagan.
    After lunch on board, set off on a guided tour. Visit Anada, one of Bagan’s most magnificent temples, and then explore a rarely visited temple by torchlight. Later learn about the traditional art of lacquer ware.
    Your day ends watching the sun set over the mesmerizing Bagan plains, followed by an exclusive candle-lighting ceremony.
    Tonight, dine under the stars at the Road to Mandalay Grill on the Observation Deck.

  • Before setting sail embark on the morning adventure of your choice: a bicycle or horse-and-cart ride around the temples of Old Bagan, a sunrise temple tour or a visit to a village community project. For an additional supplement you can choose to take an incredible hot-air balloon flight.
    As the ship sails towards Mandalay, enjoy onboard activities ranging from a cultural lecture to a treatment at the spa. Relax by the pool on the Observation Deck, the largest outdoor space of any river cruise ship in Myanmar, or work out in the gym. Sample local infusions and delicacies in our Burmese Tea Shop and learn how to dress in a traditional Myanmar longyi.
    In the evening, dine on a tempting mix of Asian and Western dishes in the elegant Restaurant.

  • Start the day with a choice of onboard activities, such as sunrise yoga, meditation, a cookery demonstration or an informative talk from our onboard doctor.
    Arrive in Mingun and choose from two fascinating tours. Discover the historical sites nearby on a guided excursion or join a walk through a rural village, getting to know the locals.
    In the evening, you are invited to wear a traditional sarong to our vibrant Longyi Cocktail Party on the Observation Deck.

  • We arrive in Mandalay after a short cruise. Early risers can participate in a Buddhist almsgiving ceremony on shore.
    Select the tour of your choice “Highlights of Mandalay” visits important historic sites around the city, including Kuthodaw Pagoda and Shwenandaw Golden Monastery. “Mandalay Arts and Shopping” focuses on the city’s renowned traditional crafts, such as bronze, marble, silk and woodwork.
    Rejoin the ship at Shwe Kyet Yet Village. After lunch, visit the Sagaing Hills, considered to be the living centre of the Buddhist faith in Myanmar.
    Toast the sunset with a champagne cocktail overlooking the amazing U Bein Bridge. Traditional entertainment follows a sumptuous dinner on board.

  • Spend the day on an excursion into the mountains and the former colonial hill station of Maymyo, also known as Pyin Oo Lwin.
    Board a traditional horse and carriage for a ride around the town. See the influence of colonial architecture in many of the country cottage homes.
    Visit the vibrant local markets and enjoy a stroll through the National Kandawgyi Botanical Gardens. Return to the ship berthed at Shwe Kyet Yet for an evening at leisure.

  • For a revitalizing start to the day, combine an early yoga session with a refreshing drink from the Healthy Juice Bar.
    Participate in a morning almsgiving ceremony at a small pagoda and enjoy the bustling activity of the village near our jetty.
    The ship sails to Ava, where you alight for a tour of the ancient capital. Choose to explore by horse and cart or by bike, either guided or independent.
    Spend the afternoon sailing to Bagan and enjoy a range of onboard activities. These include a lecture on Myanmar culture, a demonstration of how to tie a longyi sarong, and a fortune-telling session with an astrologer.

  • Relax this morning with a meditation session in the Observation Lounge.
    Today we arrive in Bagan, where over 3,000 ancient temples and pagodas cover the sun baked plains by the Ayeyarwady River.
    Embark on a full-day excursion to Mt Popa, around two hours outside of Bagan. This sacred mountain is considered home to the 37 Nat spirits. En-route, stop at a toddy palm plantation to see how they produce sweet jiggery and a potent alcoholic spirit.
    Climb to 777 steps to the top of Mt Popa or stay and explore the village below. Lunch is served at a nearby resort with stunning panoramic views over the mountain and surrounding plains.
    Return to the ship in the late afternoon. Dine under the stars at the Road to Mandalay Grill before enjoying a classical marionette performance.

  • Today, you may wish to experience one of the highlights of Bagan. Take a hot-air balloon flight over the pagodas at sunrise, available at an additional supplement.
    An early-bird breakfast is served before you disembark from Belmond Road to Mandalay for your onward travel arrangements. Guests travelling on the group flight to Yangon will be escorted to the airport.
