Itinerary

Dawei is the capital of the Tanintharyi Region and hub of southern Myanmar.  Worth visiting around town is the local “cottage industry” such as a cashew nut factory, cheroot factory, longyi weaving factory, fish cracker factory and a wood carving factory.

There are more than ten beautiful beaches around Dawei, most all are unspoiled beaches with no hotels, resorts or guesthouses near the beach. At Myinkhur Aw Beach you will see fish drying in the fishing villages where villagers can explain the drying process.

This beach hopping and island visit is a trip you won’t easily forget. It is a beautiful part of Myanmar.

Day 1 : Arrival in Yangon and sightseeing

We welcome you to the land of glittering pagodas. On your arrival, our friendly guide and driver will greet you at the airport and we will then visit the Chauk Htet Kyi, with a 66 meters long reclining Buddha, and then check-in at the hotel for refreshments (check-in time is after 2 pm). Afterwards, we will walk around Kandawgyi Park and take photos of Karaweik Hall with views of Shwedagon Pagoda from a distance. The evening we will spend at the grand Shwedagon Pagoda and afterwards go back to the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to the airport for the flight to Dawei. On arrival, our guide and driver will pick you up at the airport for sightseeing around the town of Dawei. There is a flourishing local “cottage industry” in the Dawei region such as a cashew nut processing plant, a cheroot cigar factory, a longyi weaving factory, fish cracker factory and a wood carving factory. We will visit some of these factories and be at Maungmagan Beach for sunset, where we will overnight in our hotel.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and spend the day along Maungmagan Beach.

After breakfast, we drive south to Tizit Beach where you can enjoy swimming. On the way, we will stop at a few interesting places such as a fishing village. After Tizit Beach we drive to Myinkhur Aww Beach, and later we continue further south to Grand Father Beach. Before arriving at Grand Father Beach we will stop for lunch at a fine restaurant surrounded by a palm tree plantation.  The locals refer to the beach as Po Po Kyauk which means “the old grandfather rock beach”. According to ancient folklore, an old man or old monk sat on a big rock and meditated in the direction of the sea. You can see this rock when you reach the beach. The beach is the longest beach at the peninsula and famous for its white sand and clear blue waters. There are still no guesthouses or hotels along the beach. All you will see are a few villager huts that offer small restaurants. Here you can enjoy fresh grilled seafood at cheap prices. Swimming is great at this beach, and so are the sunsets. After enjoying the beach and sunset, we return to Maungmagan Beach where we overnight.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and spend the day along Maungmagan Beach.

Our guide will pick you up at the hotel at 7 am. Today we will have breakfast on the boat. It will take about 90 minutes to reach the Moscos Islands. On arrival, we will do snorkeling and swimming. A seafood BBQ lunch will be on the boat, served with rice, Myanmar tea leaf salad, seasonal fruits, soft drinks and coffee or tea. You can relax at the island beach and do more snorkeling at another site. Depending on the time and weather, we may snorkel at two or three sites. Before sunset, we will visit a fishing village and will arrive back at the Dawei hotel at around 7 pm.

After breakfast at our Dawei hotel, we transfer to the airport for the flight to Yangon. The tour ends upon arrival at the Yangon airport.
