Itinerary

Yangon is a lovely city where motorbikes have been banned for many years. A city with a great vibe where locals will welcome you with their charming smiles. Several landmarks such as the Yangon City Hall feature traditional roofs. The downtown area has many beautiful British colonial buildings such as the High Court, Central Post Office, Ministers Office (Secretariat building), Strand Hotel, Central Telephone & Telegraph building, Myanmar Port Authority, Custom House, Bogyoke Aung San Museum, the beautiful Yangon Central Railway Station with its greenish roof, and many others. Not to be missed its the Sula Pagoda, which according to legend, dates from before the Shwedagon Pagoda making it well over 2,600 years old.

Enjoy sunset at the Shwedagon Pagoda with its spectacular massive golden stupa surrounded by hundreds of small stupas.

Taking the public ferry to Dala across the Yangon River will create everlasting memories of Yangon.

Day 1 : Arrival Yangon and Yangon city explore

Our journey starts at the Botahtaung Pagoda, one of the most significant temple-type pagodas in Yangon which houses a sacred hair relic of the Buddha. We then visit famous sites including City Hall, Independence Monument, High Court and Sule Pagoda, the heart of Yangon. After lunch, we will continue our visit to Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda with its 66 meters long reclining Buddha – one of the largest in Myanmar. We then walk around Kandawgyi Park and Karaweik Hall. Our day will end at Shwedagon Pagoda, which is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar and surrounded by an array of temples, shrines, and pavilions. Afterwards, we return to the hotel to relax.

After breakfast, we will drive to the Yangon River to the north. We will take a boat to Dala to observe the local activities along the river. You will see people selling fruits and their products on the boats where they also live. On arrival in Dala, we will travel by trishaw to visit the local fish market, green areas and tea shops. Back in Yangon, we will have lunch at a nice Myanmar food restaurant. After lunch, we visit Bogyoke Aung San Market (known as Scott Market) with its 2,000 sprawling shops for clothing, gemstones, jewellery, traditional arts & crafts and souvenirs. We will also visit the beautiful old colonial Yangon Central Railway Station and go on an exhilarating ride on the circular train from where we can see the local people going about their daily lives. Afterwards back to our hotel.
