Day 1 : Yangon arrival and transfer to hotel

We welcome you to the land of glittering pagodas. On our arrival, our friendly guide and driver will greet you at the airport and will drive to your hotel for check in. Relax at hotel and overnight in Yangon.

After breakfast at the hotel, our guide and driver will welcome you to the hotel and then start the exploration of the day to the downtown area where you can explore a range of colonial buildings around a city on foot. And we will continue to visit Yangon City Hall which is centrally located in downtown Yangon and considered a fine example of Burmese architecture, featuring traditional roofs. It is next to several important landmarks such as Sule Pagoda which is part of the city’s economy and public life, Maha Bandula Park which is a public park, High Court, and the Main Post Office. After lunch, we will go to Bogyoke Aung San Market at where there are 2,000 sprawling shops for clothes, gemstones and jewelry, Myanmar traditional arts & crafts and souvenirs. And then visit Chauk Htet Gyi reclining Buddha. Our day will end at Shwedagon Pagoda which is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar and surrounded by an array of temples, shrines, and pavilions. And transfer back to the hotel.

After breakfast at hotel, we will leave Yangon for Heho by domestic flight. On arrival, there will be a guide and driver waiting for us at the airport and proceed to Pindaya by car (about 2 hrs drive). Pindaya is famous for the impressive caves. While we are driving, we will have a chance to see the cave and the fantastic scenery of the fields and the village. On the way, we will stop for picnic lunch at local restaurant and visit Pindaya Caves. These are filled with thousands of Buddha statues, and we can explore traditional cottage industry of Umbrella Making and the scenic lake. And drive to hotel. Relax and overnight.

Early morning, we will walk to the market and buy all the provision for our for the 3 days trek. We will enjoy a walk through the hills, 1 hour, to Htwe Ni, village of the Danu tribe. We will pass through the farming where the Danu cultivates cheroot, tea plantations, damsons and mangoes on the hillsides. We will stop at Danu village and have lunch at See Kyat Inn. After lunch, we will continue to walk about 2 hours to Yasakyi, another Danu village. In the afternoon, we will observe tribal village life and how the Palaung people dry cheroot in a specially designed oven. And then, we will have dinner and overnight Yasakyi Monastery.

After breakfast, we will continue walk for 40 minutes through the hills to a village of the Danu tribe. The Danu cultivates peanut, corn, ginger, potatoes and cauliflower on the hillsides. After 40 minutes, we will arrive at Danu village of Lin Lai Inn and continue about 40 minutes to Me Ne Taung, another Pao village. Have a simple lunch at Pin Sein Pinn village and have a chat with the local people. And then, we will take another 2 hours to Kan Hla Kone for nightspot. We will have dinner and overnight at Kan Hla Kone Village monastery.

This morning, we will continue to walk through the hills. The path leads through several villages, producing Shan Tea in the traditional way. We will see the drying of the tea leaves and pass through the tea plantations. The view from the hills are great views on the surrounding Shan plateau. And then we will continue driving to the hotel in Nyaung Shwe and the rest of the time would be leisure or visit on your own.

After breakfast at hotel, we will start exploring Inle Lake by boat. There are many small villages nearby where you can see the unique leg-rowers and their traditional style. We will visit to typical floating gardens and enjoy the local methods of fishing and the magnificent scenery. And then go to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest sites in this area of Shan State and proceed to the weaving village of Inpawkhon and to one of the local markets in the Inle Lake region (it is only available on Market days). Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant serving Inthar cuisine. And then explore the southern part of the lake by boat sailing through lush vegetation scenery to reach Indein village. It is famous for its ruined cluster of pagodas by 16th Century. We can enjoy the most amazing historical sights on the shore of the lake consisting of hundreds of small stupas. And then return to the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will enjoy your leisure at the hotel until our driver will pick up you to the the airport for the flight to Yangon. Overnight at Yangon.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will go to walk around Kandawgyi Park and take pictures of Karaweik Hall. And we will go to visit Botahtaung Pagoda. It is a famous pagoda located in downtown Yangon, near the Yangon River. It is hollow within and houses what is believed to be a scared hair of Buddha. After that, we will leave from the city to airport. On the way, visit to Kyaut Daw Gyi Pagoda which is one of the famous pagodas in Yangon and is located nearby Yangon airport. One of attractions of this pagoda is decorated by biggest White Marble Image. And then continue to Kabar Aye Pagoda, which is a large one intended to have peace and quiet environment for the monks and the devotees. This pagoda is significant for the Sixth World Buddhist Synod. And then the driver will drop you off at the airport for Yangon departure flight.
