On your arrival at Heho airport, our friendly guide and driver will welcome you and transfer you to Nyaung Shwe. Visit the ancient Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery on the way. Upon arrival at Nyaung Shwe, check into your hotel (early check in on request and availability). Today we will start Inle Lake sightseeing including the floating islands, Heya Ywama Village, Phaung Daw Oo Phaya, and the unique leg-rowers on the lake with their traditional style of fishing.We will also visit local small villages with silversmiths, weaving, and the Padaung women, known for their long necks adorned with copper rings. Afterwards, we transfer to the hotel. Relax and overnight.
Day 2Indein to Kyar Tone Pa-Oh Village and Inle Lake trekking
After breakfast at your hotel, our guide will pick you up and we will head out to Indein Village by boat. Visit the ruins of the Indein Pagoda complex which is partly covered by vegetation. The area looks like a “pagoda forest”. Crossing the bamboo forests we will reach the ruins of the ancient Shwe Indein Pagodas situated on the hill slope which provides a panoramic view of the lake. Afterwards, we will trek to Kyar Tone Pa-Oh Village (approximately 2 hours) to see their way of living by cultivating chili, garlic, groundnut, wheat, and sesame. We will walk around the village to visit traditional handicraft workshops such as bronze casting, wood carvings and more. In the afternoon we will walk back to Indein Pagoda to board our boat back to the hotel. Relax and overnight.
Day 3Sakar sightseeing and overnight at Sakar
This morning after breakfast we pick you up from your hotel and will then take the boat to Sakar village (approximately 3 hrs). We will visit the Tha Gaung Relic Pagoda and other ancient religious monuments. We will also experience the way of life of the Shan, Pa-Oh, and the Intha tribes at Sakar village. Afterwards, we transfer to the hotel and relax. Stay overnight at Phayartaung.
Day 4Trekking around Paoh Villages – Sakar – Inle Lake
Today we will do light trekking around Pa-Oh Village. We start at Phayartaung and then explore the lakes to the south of Inle Lake. Along the trekking route, we will visit Naung Bo Village which is famous for its pottery where we will also experience the unique life style of the people. We then proceed to Yay Pu Village with its natural hot springs which are near Pa-Oh Village. We will have a chance to visit the footprint of the Lord Buddha as we hike through a beautiful natural forest with great views over the lakes. We will explore Kan Daw Village where we will see water springs and dramatic caves. We then return to the hotel at Inle Lake and stay overnight.
Day 5Horseback riding and transfer to Heho airport
After breakfast at your hotel, our guide will pick you up and we visit the Inle Horse Club for an adventure around the lake region. You can experience the area’s natural beauty and cultural attractions from horseback or local horse drawn cart. The six-acre Inle Horse Club plays host to nine friendly horses in an idyllic setting among dragon fruit trees, wild flowers, and a small lake.We will do two hours of horseback riding which starts out from the Inle Horse Club and then winding through the local plantations. Your adventure on horseback will take you past traditional farms of the Shan people. The horses use the local tracks through the Shan foothills to Lwe Kin Village. Here you will discover how local villagers create traditional cheroots (cigars) from locally grown tobacco leaves. After a short stop for good views outside the village, we return at a leisurely pace to Inle Horse Club. We then drive back to Nyaung Shwe, relax and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, we transfer to the airport for your flight to the destination of your choice.
