Itinerary

If you are planning to travel with your life partner to Enchanted Myanmar, this romantic tour is perfect for you. Aimed to feel the travel excitement by experiencing the culture of people living in a destination with lovely activities, unforgettable landmarks, and glorious history. So, attach the smile and travel with us.

Day 1 : Arrival in Yangon and welcome dinner at Karaweik Palace

Our driver will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel for check in.  You will then enjoy a welcome dinner during a culture show at the Karaweik Royal Palace. After dinner, back to the hotel and overnight.

After breakfast, our driver and guide will pick you up at the hotel and start the tour with a visit to the grand Shwedagon Pagoda. This large golden pagoda, surrounded by temples, shrines, and pavilions, is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar. Next, get ready for a culture shock while exploring the authentic Bogyoke Aung San Market with its 2,000 sprawling shops for clothes, gemstones, and jewelry, Myanmar traditional arts & crafts, and souvenirs. We then visit the Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda with its 66 meters long reclining Buddha, and then proceed to the Botahtaung Pagoda – one of the most significant temple-type pagodas in Yangon which houses a sacred hair relic of the Buddha. We will then walk around Kandawgyi Park and take photos of Karaweik Hall and get a scenic view of Shwedagon Pagoda from a distance. Afterwards, back to the hotel.

Our driver will pick you up at the hotel after breakfast and transfer you to Yangon domestic airport for your flight to Nyaung U (near Bagan).  In Bagan, our journey begins with a visit to the colorful local market where villagers gather every day to buy and sell their products and other goods. Learn about the daily lives of the people from your guide and explore the market. We then continue to the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda for an introduction to Bagan’s rich history. Let’s visit the nearby Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi Temple with its exquisite Jataka mural paintings and the elegant Htilominlo Temple noted for its fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations. After lunch and a short rest at our hotel, we visit the Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece and one of the most beautiful temples in Bagan. Built in the early Mon-Myanmar style, Ananda Temple contains two unique Buddha images whose expressions seem to change depending on the distance from which the images are viewed. Afterwards we visit Thatbyinnyu Temple, the highest temple in Bagan and the massive Dhammayangyi Temple noted for its remarkable brickwork. Enjoy an unforgettable sunset over Nyaung Lat Phet Hill before we return to our hotel.

Note: We can arrange a professional photographer at the temples of Bagan to take photos of the new bride wearing a traditional Myanmar wedding dress . Should you be interested in this service, please let us know and we will provide more information and pricing options.

After breakfast, we take a one hour drive from Bagan to Mount Popa, located on the road to Mandalay. The top of Mt. Popa is 1,518 meters above sea-level. Hiking the stairs to the top takes about 45 minutes where we will visit the Mahagiri Shrine dedicated to the “Nats” (spirits). The panoramic view from the top is stunning! We then return to Bagan. We can arrange a special romantic candlelight dinner (optional).

NOTE: Boats leave Bagan only on Sundays.

Embarkation time is 6:00 am at the Irrawaddy Princess Jetty. Our boat will depart at 6:30 am and sail upstream to arrive approximately at 4 pm at Yandabo Village. This village is famous for the production of pottery made of terracotta clay from the riverbanks. We will see the pottery-making process at various stages. Yandabo is also known for the signing of the Yandabo Treaty which took place under a tree on the riverbank in 1826 between the British and the Royal Burmese Household of Ava. The shore excursion time is one hour after which the boat continues sailing upstream and moor near Shwe Pauk Pin Village for our overnight stay.

Note: The exact sightseeing plans may change due to the water level and weather conditions

After breakfast, we continue sailing upstream and will arrive in Mandalay between 4 pm and 5 pm. Our driver will be waiting at the jetty and transfer us to the hotel for some leisure time.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will start sightseeing at Mahamuni Pagoda, famous for its life-like Buddha image, marble sculpture, tapestry workshop, and Zeygyo market. After lunch, continue sightseeing at Ku Tho Daw Pagoda, known as the world’s “biggest book”,  the Golden Monastery, famous for its wood carving, silk weaving, and the Kyauk Taw Gyi Pagoda with its gigantic image of Buddha sculpted from a single marble boulder. Enjoy the panoramic view of Mandalay from Mandalay Hill and then transfer to the marionettes show. After the show, back to the hotel and overnight.

After breakfast we drive to the Mandalay jetty for the boat trip to Mingun (just 12 km upstream from Mandalay on the west bank). Upon arrival, visit Pondaw Paya (a five-meter high structure), Settawya Paya (the valued shrine with a footprint of the Buddha), and Mingun Pahtotawgyia massive incomplete monument stupa built by King Bodaw Paya. We will also see the Mingun Bell (the world renowned bell weighing 90 tonnes), and Hsinbyume Paya (a representation of the Sulamani Paya which stands atop Mt. Meru). We then transfer to the airport to fly to Heho. On arrival at Heho, transfer to your hotel and overnight.

Today, we will start Inle Lake sightseeing including the floating islands, Heya Ywama Village, Phaung Daw Oo Phaya, and the unique leg-rowers with their traditional style of fishing. We will also visit a local small cottage with a silversmith, as well as the “long-necked” women. To the south of the lake we will visit the ruins of Indein which is partly covered by vegetation and looks like a “pagoda forest”. We will walk for about an hour to enjoy a fantastic view over the lake and visit a school in Tha Ley Village. We return to the hotel and overnight.

After breakfast we leave for Inle Lake and embark at Nyaung Shwe for biking around the villages. We bike around the Nyaung Shwe market and Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery and then head out for lunch. After lunch, we will bike to the eastern part of the lake to explore more villages and the winery for a wine taste session. Back to hotel and overnight.

After breakfast, our driver will transfer you to the airport to fly to Thandwe. On arrival at Thandwe, we proceed to Ngapali Beach where you can relax by the sea.

Relax all day by the beach.

Another day to relax by the beach.

After breakfast we transfer to the airport to fly to Yangon and join your departure flight from Myanmar.
