When to Visit China Town in Yangon
While Yangon is no longer the capital of Myanmar, it remains the center for business even after the government of Myanmar moved the capital to Nay Pyi Taw. There are lots of places to visit in Yangon such as the grand Shwedagon Pagoda, the colonial building district, the bustling city center, Bogyoke Aung San Market, Kandawgyi Lake, and other notable temples.
No visitor to Yangon should miss the opportunity to explore China Town.The section between Latha Street and Pyay Road is recognized as China Town, however, thebusiest sector is from Latha Road to Lanmadaw Road. There is a market called Than Zay at the corner of Lanmadaw & Anawyatha Road, along 17th Street. It is best to visit in the morning hours between 7:00 and 10:30 am.

Another good time to visit China Town is at night, from 7:00 to 11:00 pm. After 5:00 pm, street vendors gather to sell their wares at the night street market, and the area comes to life again. The most exciting time will be once you start walking up the 19th street where there are lots of beer stations and bars.
